PHASE 3: PRODUCTION -->
The move to production starts with a pre-production phase, where scope and budget are re-addressed along with the technical requirements. Version control, file structure, naming conventions, scalability and site maintenance standards are all reviewed and established. Next follows the creation of templates, both for graphical elements and for structural code. After another round of testing and validation across different browsers and platforms, the templates are released for actual production and content, graphics and other media are inserted.
-
Coding and scripting for interactive elements such as image-swapping, form submission and generation, streaming media and multimedia presentations is prepared and integrated into the templates.
-
For those sites whose content is dynamic and changing, the templates are then broken down into elements that can be served and reconstituted dynamically using technologies such as ASP, JSP and Cold Fusion.
-
When all the disparate elements have finally come together to form a complete site on our in-house server, an internal review and testing cycle is initiated. The Alpha test cycle will reveal any flaws, inconsistencies, and deviations from the specifications and validate the goals and objectives that have driven the project from the beginning.
